Lynx didn't turn up!
WHETSTONE LYNX 1 Vs 2 BERKHAMSTED RAIDERS U18 GREEN
It should have been an easy match. Berko played with only 10 men and managed to up their game to beat LYNX. Our only goal came from a penalty late in the second half (see video below) when it was too late to make a come back. The lads should've started the way the finished. 3 pts lost!

What a great game!
Whetstone are now the team to beat. Everett Rovers had a lot of possession but never managed to score. Rovers played as individuals, good at that, but never managed to convert anything. I think their manager shouted "18 attempts no goals". It just goes to show that if you dont play as a team how ineffective it is.
Whetstone played as a unit and held Rovers for the first half at 0-0. For 15mins of the first half Matheus was off the field with an injury leaving just ten men to hold the fort. Jordan dropped back to midfield to fill the gap.
After the break Matheus was subbed out 5 mins into the half with his first half injury. Hamza replaced him and moved up front as a sole striker. Left winger Olly got on to the score sheet for the first time this season with a well worked goal shortly after the substitution.
Wave after wave of attacts came, pounding the pressure on our defence. Both Jordan and Joe worked their best defence this season, supporting each other and covering each other.
The game was finally finished off with a great goal from Jordan who went 1 on 1 with the keeper and coolie put the ball in the back of the net.
A first clean sheet for Brad who made some terrific saves.

Report
Great game with some excellent football.
Midfield worked very well with the introduction of Greensmith as a holding Midfielder.
The First half finished 2-1 with a penalty awarded to Harrison after the goalkeeper came at him with his studs up in the box. Matheus calmly and professionally took the penalty to make it 1-0. Shortly afterwards Harrison made it 2 from a very tight angle from the right wing hitting the top corner.
In the last ten minutes of the first half Harvesters fought back with a goal. The hot sunshine seemed to be taking its toll with the Lynx and very nearly conceded another.
After the break Lynx came out fighting with a great succession of goals from Jordan E. Jprdan, who scored 4 great goals now takes the leader on the leader board as the teams highest goal scorer – well done! Another greatly worked goal came from the midfield with Greensmith, Harrison and Taz taking a part before Matheus banged it in. The final goal was a class act free kick from Jordan O. What a kick – where did that come from. More of these please!
It was a great performance from everyone.

We have ongoing trials throughout the season.
The Lynx team are currently holding trials to help build on the current structure this season. We hope to be signing 18 squad members.If you are interested in coming along to the trials please contact Rob Threadgold on 07779 713 786 and come along to a training session on a Thursday nights at 6.30pm at Compton Sports Centre.
